DanielGodin.com

DanielGodin.com is actually the personal blog site of Upright Infinity founder, Daniel Godin.

The site was created to allow him to document his dream of climbing the tallest summit on each continent, and add a bit of adventure to his life.

Design

The design was based on a theme found at plaintxt.org, but customized to be more in line with the subject matter of the site.

A lot of white space was kept, and 'cold' colors (blues, greys, etc), were used to mirror the vast open expanses of cold and snow on the majority of the mountains Daniel intends to climb.

A topographic map background was applied to the upper portion of the site, with a mountain range footer grounding the pages, to further reinforce the subject matter of the site.

Layout

The layout facilitates the 'post' based content of the site. With most current posts displayed on the front page, and links to previous posts and other pages on the sidebar.

Platform

This site is run on a WordPress platform.

Custom functionality was added to display Flickr photos, and allow users to contact Daniel directly through a contact form.

WordPress is a very flexible, open source blog/content management system that Upright Infinity uses in a lot of it's projects.
